Simulating the IBM 1130 on 21st-century hardware

Want to have an 1130 of your own? They're hard to find these days, but you can have the next best thing: an emulated 1130 to run on your very own PC.

Download our simulator: We have developed an IBM 1130 simulator based on Bob Supnik's SIMH package (check it out, but note that the 1130 simulator code distributed from the SIMH site usually lags behind what's on this website). The simulator simulates an 1131 processor with up to 32KW of memory, the console keyboard and printer, 1132 printer, 1442 card read/punch, and up to five disk drives. It's a work in progress, but it runs Disk Monitor System Release 2 Version 12, and it's pretty fun. Versions are available for download with FORTRAN, APL, and RPG, and a LISP disk image is available on the LISP page.

If you're interested in the simulator, be sure to join our site-updates mailing list so we can notify you of software updates and additions. (The list is private, and the mail volume is VERY low, so please don't hesitate to sign up).
